Issue XLV – Welcome!
Man, the audacity 🤦🏻♀️…
I overheard a conversation over the weekend that made me chuckle: this man (shocker) said, so confidently, that an algorithm selected the top 25 college football teams each week. Bless his heart.
I didn’t have it in me to correct him. I’ve been in enough rooms and scenarios like this to know it’s pointless. BUUUUUT! That doesn’t mean I can’t make sure YOU know how the AP Top 25 are selected! So, let’s get into it.

📌 In this issue
🗳️ The AP Poll, explained: who votes, how the points work, and why Texas fell six spots after a loss while Alabama didn’t move at all.
🤔 Does it even matter anymore? How a poll that doesn’t pick a single playoff team still runs the conversation in the 12-team era.
🗞️ In Other News: a WNBA Finals with two first-time champs-in-waiting, a wild MLB comeback, NFL chaos, and Man City’s 114-charge scandal.
